Hello, Oregon politicos!
Welcome to PolicyBear.org, a site that will (hopefully) serve as a source of information, resources, communications, and maybe a bit of entertainment. The few of us that are working to get it set up are hoping that it is useful for staffers, campaigners, lobbyists, activists... even electeds.
PolicyBear has public content and also content just for registered users. Anyone can view the articles that are submitted by our contributors. But in order to comment on the articles, you'll have to log in, either as yourself (which you can also do via Facebook and Google) or as an alias. (Staffing is a sensitive job, so we want to give a maximum amount of anonymity that we're able to!) We're launching with two other interesting features as well, which are available only to registered users:
A File Library, where users can share and browse files relevant to political discussion (we reserve the right to delete content that does not conform to user policies), and
A Forum where users can create their own threads in order to discuss topics of interest, such as policy questions, political events, jobs, and more.
If there's a feature you think would be neat and useful, shoot us a message and we'll see if we can add that to the site.
Each contributor and user may have their own political slant and values that they bring to their writing. However, PolicyBear is not a place for unfounded partisan cheerleading. All ideas and discussions are welcome so long as they are rooted in facts, respect the basic human dignity of all people, and do not resort to name-calling or ad hominem attacks. Read our policies here.
So go ahead and explore the site, and hopefully join our new community (either as yourself or as a political alter-ego!). If you'd like to become a contributor (with privileges to submit articles for posting), also shoot us a message letting us know. (Contributors may post anonymously, but must be known to the PolicyBear admins.)
Enjoy!
