Each contributor to PolicyBear may have their own political slant and values that they bring to their writing.  However, PolicyBear is not a place for partisan cheerleading.  All ideas and discussions are welcome so long as they are rooted in facts, respect the basic human dignity of all people, and do not resort to name-calling or ad hominem attacks.

Anyone can read articles, but you must register as a user to comment or participate.  You can do this through Facebook automatically, or if you want to remain a little more anonymous you can establish a user account just for PolicyBear.org.

We also maintain a file library for users to browse that contains documentation that may have been referenced in articles.

Also, check out our legal disclaimer stuff here for some of the nitty-gritty policies.

Who is Policy Bear?

"Policy Bear" comes from a nickname that a staffer was saddled with without their knowledge... and it stuck.  Policy Bear and other contributors don't actively try to hide their identities, but some won't confirm their identity to anyone just to keep a distance between what might be written here and any professional responsibilities.  Anything written by a PolicyBear contributor, whether known or anonymous, should not be considered to necessarily represent the views of that contributor's employer, office, or clients.
